OUT NOW! (again) The First Seven Days!

(I’ve been bursting at the seams to share this with you)

Out now!

The Undead. The First Seven Days. The Very Marvellous Adventures of Howie & Dave.

Rewritten. Revamped. Rebirthed. Redone. Really redone. Really really. Renewed. Rethought. Reworked.

And now Rereleased 🤣

Honestly, it’s been an insane experience going back to Howie and Dave at the start - knowing what I know now. It felt like I was stepping through Bertie’s portal and going back in time.

If you do want to read the new one Day One and Day Two will feel very familiar, although they have also been completely rewritten. From Day Three onwards you'll see new characters, some new scenes - and just generally a lot more depth.

The humour has also been enhanced from the start.

We see more of the lads before they meet Howie and Dave. And we get more backstory about them. Sarah (Howie’s sister) is massively different. Everything is different really, while also still familiar. (Which is doubly weird as I just wrote a big parallel world story.)

Oooh, and I love doing this now but the physical journey they now take is 99% accurate.

The storyline around Darren has also been massively overhauled. That's super absorbing.

If you don't want to read the new one that is also super cool. The story still starts and finishes in the same places, and I’ve taken as much care as I can to preserve the integrity of the series - (but the journey through these first seven days is now sooooo much better.)

That said, I couldn’t resist adding a couple of new characters, so I now need to get into Day Eight to make sure that tallies up.

If you have already bought the Kindle version before, you can keep your original or re-download the new one for free. You’ll see as soon as you go into Amazon if you’ve already bought it.

I’m not 100% sure of how it works if you read it through KU or another Amazon program, or from another platform – but I have kept the price purposefully low (£2.99 for Kindle) in case existing readers want to buy it again.

The paperback jacket for The First Seven Days has also changed. I wish wish wish I could send you free paperbacks, but alas, I have hungry pigeons and hungry dogs and I’d be bankrupt quicker than anything if I did that.

But anywho. There you go. I truly, deeply, madly hope (we're all crossing our fingers and toes and paws and feathers) that you adore this new version as much as I loved writing it.

The new audio versions, narrated by Joe Jameson, should be out early summer – I'll post and update as soon as I know.

Much love!

RR Haywood ☺️
